At Njobvu Cultural Lodge you experience the real Malawian life by sleeping in the traditional mud brick hut in the village and meeting the villagers and their traditions.
The activities at the Lodge include taking you for a walk through the villages to observe traditional way of life such as pounding, cooking, traditional doctors, weaving baskets etc. During the walk you can have a talk with the village headman, have a look in the little grocery store and visit the orphan school which is benefiting from the Cultural Village Lodge.
After you return to the Lodge, you are served with traditional meals like nsima with pumpkin leaves (pumpkin leaves boiled together with groundnut flour) or other vegetables. Visitors are sometimes also served with locally brewed sweet beer locally called Thobwa.
For overnight stay, traditional dances are performed for the guests in the evenings. After the dances you can sit at the campfire and talk with the villagers, exchanging cultures and looking at the numerous stars.
Accommodation is offered on a mat laid on the floor - with or without a mattress depending on the visitors choice.
